Monologue Slam UK is THE industry showcase for actors from all backgrounds and profiles. Sponsored by Spotlight and supported by industry as a whole, Monologue Slam UK is open to everyone. After a lengthy audition process, 20 actors are given the opportunity to perform for a welcoming audience and a panel of people in a position to move their careers forward. Winning the East Midlands regional heat of the Triforce Monologue Slam in June 2016 at Curve, Leicester was a significant moment in my acting career, as it convinced me to pursue acting professionally. It was inspiring for me to recite my monologue and feel that everyone in the audience was listening to what my character had to say and understood what I was communicating. I was very pleased to be honoured in this way and to perform in the National Final, and was chosen by Channel 4 Drama as one of ten actors to be championed by them over the following year.
